Frequently Asked Questions
Why convert PNG to JPG?
JPG files are typically much smaller than PNG. Convert when you need to reduce file size for email, web upload, or storage - especially for photos.
What happens to transparency?
JPG doesn't support transparency. Transparent areas in your PNG will become white (or the background color) in the converted JPG.
Will I lose quality?
JPG uses lossy compression, so there's some quality reduction. At 92% quality (our default), it's usually imperceptible in photos but may show in graphics with sharp edges.
How much smaller will my file be?
Typically 2-10x smaller, depending on the image. Photos compress well; graphics with solid colors compress less efficiently.
Can I convert multiple PNGs at once?
Yes! Select multiple files and they'll all be converted. Desktop users receive a single ZIP file containing all converted images.
